Actualización de Twitter para Android

Como suele pasar, se acaba de actualizar la aplicación de Twitter para Android, solucionando algunos problemas que se habían registrado últimamente en la aplicación oficial que le permite a los usuarios de Android acceder a una de las redes sociales más populares del momento, como es Twitter.

La nueva versión de Twitter para Android apareció principalmente para solucionar algunos problemas de compatibilidad y bugs que hacían que no funcionara correctamente.

Esta versión como siempre se puede descargar de modo completamente gratuito desde el Android Market simplemente para reemplazar lo que sea necesario y así solucionar algunos problemas que estaban haciendo que la aplicación no funcionara de modo correcto, y así poder disfrutar de la aplicación sin que se cuelgue o tenga otro tipo de problemas que se habían registrado hasta ahora.

La aplicación en sí no presenta otras novedades visibles ni cambios notorios ya que se trata de una actualización simplemente funcional.

Soul Calibur llega este jueves a los dispositivos iOS

Soul Calibur es un videojuego de peleas fantásticas que originalmente salió hace muchos años para la legendaria consola de Sega llamada Dreamcast.

El juego producido por Namco Bandai siguió presente en las siguientes generaciones de consolas, convirtiéndose así en uno de los más conocidos del género de peleas.

De hecho, a finales de este mes se lanza Soul Calibur V para Xbox 360 y PlayStation 3. Dato que seguramente está relacionado con el recién anunciado lanzamiento del port del primer Soul Calibur para los dispositivos iOS.

El port del juego estará disponible a partir del jueves 19 de enero tanto para iPad 2, iPhone 4 e iPod Touch 4. Contará con todos los personajes originales y los siguientes modos de juego: arcade, battle, time attack, survival, extra survival, practice y museum.

There was a talk about Microsoft's plans on the launch of its updated Windows Phone version Mango, on September 1st. This was a rumor, says Microsoft's Joe Belfiore through twitter. The OS being released at the beginning of next month would make us feel that it requires IFA 2011 for the upcoming version in Berlin and also this will give us an advantage over Apple iOS.

Bird Population Falls Over Past 40 Years

A recent study by the National Audubon Society has found that bird populations -- even those of common, robust species such as grackles -- have fallen drastically over the past 40 years. The populations of whiporwills and bobwhites have fallen by well over 80 percent, a drop so great that these once-common birds are now seldom seen or heard in the eastern US. Deforestation is partly to blame, as well as global warming, which appears to be affecting arctic birds especially hard. Because cold-climate birds must migrate farther north each year to reach their shrinking habitat, they rarely migrate below the northernmost regions of the US.

'These are not rare or exotic birds we're talking about -- these are the birds that visit our feeders and congregate at nearby lakes and seashores and yet they are disappearing day by day,' said Carol Browner, Audubon board chairperson and former Environmental Protection Agency administrator in the Clinton administration. 'Their decline tells us we have serious work to do, from protecting local habitats to addressing the huge threats from global warming.'

MIT Demonstrates 'Wireless Electricity'

The ability to direct and transmit electrical power through the air, without wires, took a further step from the theoretical to the practical in June when a group of MIT researchers demonstrated their 'WiTricity' concept.

The technology works by transmitting electricity as a magnetic field oscillating at a specific frequency. Through 'magnetically coupled resonance,' the 'receiver' can capture the electricity, making for an efficient and safe method of over-the-air transfer.

Wireless transmission of electricity has been understood in theory since the work of Nikolai Tesla in the 19th Century. Safe, efficient and cost-effective wireless electricity could hold countless beenfits, from eliminating the need to install costly copper wiring to lowered reliance on batteries for small devices. However, despite the success of WiTricity, the technology has a long way to go before it is deployed commercially... not to mention the need to better understand side effects such as interference and possible effects on health and the environment.
